Camp Commander
Info / News Page
Another year of Guyandotte Civil War Days is behind us.  I was honored to play bagpipes at the opening of the Church/Memorial service on Sunday for both sides of the war military and visitors.

I was equally honored to be set up in the tent behind the Keenan House.  It was listed as "Meet The Authors" on the program sheet.  I gave out recruiting info for the Son's of Confederate Veterans.  Sitting at the table next to me were the United Daughters of The Confederacy also recruiting for their organization.

In front of me was a young man who was a School Teacher in the Ceredo Kenova area and also a budding young author Matthew Perry.  One of the books I bought from him was about General Albert Galletin Jenkins of who we are all about on this web site.  I couldn't wait to get home and read it that night....and I did.   Please buy a copy of this well written and researched book.  I am sure he will be writing more books in the future dealing with the civil war.  He is also joining the Sons of Confederate Veterans and we will be glad to welcome him into the fold.  You can get his books by contacting him directly at:   [email protected]
